Three people died and 15 were injured in a shooting in a park at Las Cruces, New Mexico, on Friday night, according to the police.
The deceased are two 19 -year -old men and a 16 -year -old boy. The injured vary between 16 and 36 years, according to a police statement to ABC News on Saturday.
The police were sent to the shooting shortly after 10 pm on Friday at Young Park, said the Las Cruces Police Department.
“The officers arrived and learned of multiple victims of shooting. The majority were transported to local hospitals. Some were taken to the medical center of El Paso de la Universidad,” said the police.

The names of the dead and injured will not be released at this time, said the Police Department.
At a press conference on Saturday morning, the Cruces officials said an unauthorized car show in the park before the shooting. There was an altercation between two groups of people who led to an exchange of shooting.
Several people were injured in the crossfire. At least four have been treated and released.
Police said they have not made any arrest, but that potential customers are actively following.

“The Cruces Police are receiving assistance in this investigation from the FBI, ATF, the State Police of New Mexico and the Sheriff’s Office of Dona Ana County,” authorities said.
Young Park and all roads that lead to the park are temporarily closed, while researchers do their job.
