The Secretary of National Security, Kristi Noem, will visit the prison in El Salvador that welcomed migrants in the center of the deportation battle that takes place in the courts of the United States.

On Wednesday, Noem will visit the Terrorist Confinement Center with Salvadoran Justice Minister, according to an official of the United States National Security Department, and then meet with President Nayib Bukele of El Salvador.

“This week, I go to El Salvador,” Noem said during a cabinet meeting at the White House on Monday. “I will be in prison where we send [Tren De Aragua] gangs. I will meet with the president and also Colombia and Mexico and talk about the construction of these relations so that we can continue to take out the people of this country that do not belong here and take them home. “

She said the president spoke with her about “sending the message worldwide” that people should not be entering the United States illegally.

The DHS has implemented an advertising campaign of $ 200 million to tell people who are thinking of coming to the United States illegally who do not come and urge those who are in the United States without the legal status that leave.

“They shouldn’t come here illegally,” said Noem. “So we are in several other countries in the world with a message at this time that says that if you are thinking of coming to the United States illegally, do not do it, you are not welcome. We have a legal process to become a citizen of the United States and there are consequences if you come here illegally.”

The administration allegedly sent the members of the Venezuelan gang of Aragua to the infamous prison, despite the fact that a federal judge ordered the officials not to do so.

“The United States has changed because we are putting the Americans first,” Noem concluded during the meeting on Monday.

The alleged members of the Venezuelan criminal organization, Aragua Train, which were deported by the United States government, are arrested at the Center for Confinement of Terrorism in Tecoluca, El Salvador in a photo obtained on March 16, 2025.

Noem will also meet with Colombian leaders and Mexican president Claudia Sheinbaum later in the week.

“President Trump and Secretary Noem have a clear message for criminal foreigners who consider illegally entering the United States: do not even think about it. If you come to our country and break our laws, we will hunt you and lock you,” said the assistant secretary of Public Affairs of Public Affairs, Tricia McLaughlin. “This trip underlines the importance of our partner countries to help eliminate illegal violent criminal foreigners from the United States.”
